Victor’s story:
Victor was a one-year-old stray, housed at the Crawford County Humane Society for 2 weeks. At the time of adoption Victor had an ear infection and other allergy-related symptoms. Despite treatment the infection returned and his coat thinned dramatically. After four different dog foods (chicken, lamb, rice, and then prescription) he was tested for allergies. Victor is now symptom-free and fluffy on Wellness Fish and Sweet Potato dry food.
Victor, a member of the Paws Hand-Delivered therapy dog group, is certified through Therapy Dogs, Inc. and visits three nursing homes and the Transitional Care Unit of Meadville Medical Center each month. He also spends time with hospice patients several times each month.
After seven months of training, Victor competed in his first agility trial – qualifying in Novice A Jumpers with Weaves. He is currently scheduled to compete in 20 additional trials in the next six months.
From unwanted to undaunted – from a stray to a star! This is Casabergen’s Victory Gentry – an American Brittany.
Here’s a picture of Victor after qualifying (Q) in his first agility trial. We did well as a team in our first run (made one too many mistakes); ran better in the second run and qualified.
Victor, is doing well in the Agility Trials and has won his second award.
